Just decided that I might write a journal talking just a little bit about myself. (Hahah, I’m doing this but I don’t have many watchers so it probably doesn’t really matter, but whatever)

Hello everyone!

As you know my name is Animmika Mangaka (obviously this is not my real name ^.<). This was created using the start of anime – ‘Anim’ – and my nickname – ‘mika’. ‘Mangaka’ completely a coincidence, I swear! I used ‘manga’ and then the last syllable of my real name – ‘ka’. About a month or so later, if found that ‘mangaka’ (漫画家) meant a manga/comic artist.

Well, I don’t want to say my real name just yet (teehee), but I can say my Japanese name. But, before that, it’s very complicated. My actual name is Japanese – despite me being completely Australian – it is the English version of my Japanese name, even though it is Japanese. (O.O….) But, then, I also have a proper Japanese name – Kumiko (久美子).

Something I seem to have trouble doing is having confidence in myself. I find it hard to say to myself ‘Ah, I did my best,’ or ‘I did really well.’ I like it when people compliment me and it makes me feel good, but I don’t want people to do it all the time. I need to find the confidence in myself and I have a poster on my wall that says “If you don’t believe you are worthy, then you will never get to where you want to be.” And, after reading this quote, I have recently found a lot more confidence in myself. I believe that everyone should have the confidence in themselves and be proud of what they do. And everyone reading this (if you have stayed long enough), you are amazing and being yourself is the most important thing. Do what you do best because you are the best at doing that, and the best at being you.

Now, I play the violin. This is my ninth year playing and I up to my Grade Five AMEB and I am hoping to do my exam in August this year. I love playing the violin and it one of the best choices that I have ever made. I also play in orchestra. Because of the level, I currently play as a second violin, but I hope to get close to concert master by the time I finish school.

I also play the piano. I had piano lessons for one year (last year) and completed my Grade One AMEB Exam. Piano is fun but I am more committed to violin.

DRAWING!!! I have been drawing all my life but began drawing anime in year 5 (five years ago)

I first began my love for anime with the TV series: Deltora Quest. I eventually grew out of this, however my obsession was very extreme while it lasted. I cried when I received the TV series for Christmas, I read all the books (the actual novels, courtesy of Emily Rodda) and other extras that came with it. Sometime during that time period I played Pokémon for the first time. I began with Pokémon Black, and then bought White, White 2, Black 2 and X. They are all awesome but has played more games than I have. Now, I have watched quite a few anime. Some of my favourites are Origins: Spirits of the Past (銀色の髪のアギト), Mirai Nikki, Sukitte Ii Na Yo (I only read the manga though), Tokyo Ghoul, Ao ha Ride, DRAMAtical Murder, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and many more. Lately, I haven’t been watching a lot of anime because of school and I usually prefer to draw over watching anime, but I have some anime I plan to watch soon (for example: Plastic Memories). I have been thinking about maybe doing or submitting some more traditional art and maybe some pictures that I found that I drew a while ago. Hahhaha…….. I do like to take requests because I don’t have a lot of people following me so I’m sure it won’t be too much to handle. However, I don’t know for sure if I’m ok with taking requests as I have only ever done one.
